The Unfinished Book

I close another chapter today.
The story has been written.
I take out a new sheet and my pen.
This author isn’t quitin’.
Each chapter has contained something new.
Some took many years to write.
One may be a long slow moving day,
another a quick spent night.
Each page is such a deep part of me.
It’s sad to see them conclude.
But all of these extra parts provide
a special spiritual food.
I don’t know what will fill the next page.
It will open with a new joy.
With God to open the door each day
I’ll find new words to employ
