Redneck at the Symphony
By Larry Linville
A redneck went to the symphony
with tickets that he got for free.
He thought they’d play “Turkey in the Straw”
because of all the fiddles he saw.
First song was composed by Deb U. See
and they sat down to play just for me
“The afternoon of the Fawn”, I heard
while no one sang a single word.
Music sounded funny to me
and never a deer did I see.
Perhaps it thought it had to run
when it saw the setting of the sun
