Progress on my book

Here I sit all excited
like I was before each ball game I played
and before each sermon I preached.
It's 8:45 a.m.
and at 10 a.m. the phone will ring
and I will be talking to the design team at Author House.
We will talk about format for the interior and exterior.
They said it might take 30 to 45 minutes.
Am I prepared?
What decisions will I have to make?
I must remember they are working for me.
Will we set the price of the book today?
How much longer until it will be on the market?
I'm so excited
I could almost cry (in joy, of course).

I'll keep you posted.
You'll be able to order it on line.
I'll be working hard to market it.
I will want you to tell all your friends.

Meanwhile, my poetry has slowed
because of all that's going on in my mind.
I have a poem running around in my head
about singing alto with my mother.
I have a poem about the "church library".
Who know what will trigger a poem.
Perhaps Lent will get the juices going.
