Lessons from Goldilocks
by Larry Linville
Let’s review the case of Goldilocks
That girl of Mother Goose fame.
Her careless little antics
Help give blondes a bad name.
We don’t know how old she was.
She was surely over two.
But we do know she was not at home
and doing what she shouldn’t do.
You don’t walk into some else’s house
Even if you’ve knocked on the door.
Furthermore, she was in the woods
Where she’d never gone before.
The bears were not without their faults
They have to share some blame.
Why did they leave cooked porridge
To tempt this little dame?
They should have locked the house
Before going on their walk.
But they didn’t, and she entered.
They have no room to talk.
