I Saw God Decorate A Christmas Tree
By Larry Linville
A scrawny cedar stood all alone
in a pasture on a December morn.
It was more brown than green.
An object that we all would scorn.
One by one the snowflakes fell
from the gray winter skies
and the tree took on beauty
right before my very eyes.
The flakes took their special place
like they were placed with gentle care
because no human being
would know to put them there.
When I came back down that country road
what beauty was there to see.
The ugly tree had a special aura.
I saw God decorate a Christmas Tree.

Listen I am ready for cold and snow---this hot July and coming August weather is not for me these days.
