Poem In My Pocket
By Larry Linville
April seventeenth every year
is a special time to share.
Put a poem in your pocket
one for which you really care.
Take it out and read it
to persons whom you meet
and you may be giving them
a very special treat.
It started in New York City
in the year two thousand two
and has spread across the nation
now you can spread it too.
I have made my selection
and my pocket awaits the day
when I can let a poem
say what I want to say.
